  • In the footsteps of old trades. Two flash visits offered by the Fontenay Le Comte town council.

  • Throughout France and Europe, the European Crafts Days are a unique, free event designed to raise the profile of the crafts and living heritage sector.

    - Join us at 3.30pm at the Pont des Sardines for a tour that will take you from the ruelle des Pelletiers to the ruelle de la Poëlle, where you'll learn about the trades involved in working with skins and the more picturesque streets, such as the one with the enigmatic name "de la truie qui file" ("of the spinning sow").

    - Meet at 5pm in...

    - Meet at 5pm in Place St Jean for a whirlwind tour of the Rue des Tanneurs and the Rue des Chapeliers, looking at the crafts that have made this district so rich since the Middle Ages. We'll also take a look at the signs of yesteryear.
