BISTROT PATOIS

This brand new event will take place once a month at Le Mazeau and will be organised by enthusiasts of the Poitevin-Saintonge region.

Françoise DUBOIS, with the Maz'Arts association, had the idea of setting up a Bistrot patois at Le Mazeau. She mentioned it to Caryne MORIN, the owner of the bar "Au détour du Marais", who was immediately enthusiastic! The two partners will be hosting the first Bistrot patois on Saturday 17 June 2023, starting at 6pm. The initiative was born of Françoise's irrepressible desire to keep her mother tongue alive in every possible way. Following on from the "i causons patois" show she put on last month at Le Mazeau, this time it's going to be in a bar, where people will be chatting freely in patois, exchanging knowledge and savouring the richness of the language. The idea is to share a convivial moment in good humour, whatever the level of the speakers. Anyone who wants to speak and learn Poitevin-Saintongeais - or simply come along and listen - is welcome. These evenings, which will be prepared and led by two or three good speakers, are designed to be fun, with a surprise theme concocted by the organisers. The evenings can be extended with a simple meal.

Meet up one Saturday a month from 6pm at the bar "Au détour du Marais", 11 rue Principale, 85420 Le Mazeau.
